JUNE 7th — Call for Makers

Please note: The Call for Makers does not open until Friday, June 7th; our press release announcing its opening went out a bit earlier than we intended.  We’d like to open it earlier, but for a variety of scheduling issues we will have to wait another week!

Once June 7th arrives, check back here and click on our Call for Makers link.  You only have until July 19th to apply, so don’t wait too long!  Thanks for your patience!

Our latest presenting sponsor is…

The Walmart Foundation Local Giving Program!

Walmart believes in operating globally and giving back locally – creating impact in the neighborhoods where we live and work. Thank you, Walmart, for supporting creativity and innovation in Lewiston-Auburn!

Coming soon…

… the Call for Makers!

Are you a hobbyist, tinkerer, engineer, creator or Maker?  Do you have a project or accomplishment that that you want to share with an enthusiastic audience?  If so, exhibit at the Lewiston-Auburn Mini Maker Faire!

Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.

Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect, grow and inspire this community.

The 2012 L-AMMF brought in 800 people and we hope to double that number this year!  Some of the Makers at the 2012 L-AMMF included: Robotics teams, wind turbines, bike part art, hackers, calligraphers, model planes and jewelry makers – in other words, something for everyone!

Anyone can enter!  Just check back here on June 7th for a link to submit an entry that tells us about you and your project.  We are hoping for a wide-range of topics and we are particularly interested in exhibits that include an interactive component or show the process of how something was MADE.
